About Spondulix Search
Spondulix Search is a search engine built for music catalogs. It understands a request written in plain English, combines it with precise filters, and returns the tracks that best match, ranked by how well they fit every part of the brief.
Most catalog search tools were built around a form: pick a genre, tick a few moods, set a BPM range. That works when you already know how the catalog is tagged. It falls apart when a client sends a paragraph describing a scene and you need the right cue by the end of the day. Spondulix Search starts from the paragraph.
What it does
- Natural language queries. Describe what you need the way you would to a colleague. The search works out the genres, moods, tempo and other constraints that your description implies.
- Precise filters. Add hard constraints alongside the description: tempo and duration ranges, instrumental only, clean versions, public domain, dates, or any of your own custom fields.
- Weighted results. Every part of a request carries a weight, so tracks that satisfy the most important parts rise to the top rather than a flat keyword match.
- Semantic lyric search. Lyrics are indexed by meaning. “Songs about leaving home” finds them whether or not the word “home” appears.
- Conversational refinement. A follow-up like “the same, but slower and no vocals” continues the previous search rather than starting over.
- Web interface, REST API and MCP. Enter and edit catalog data in the browser, drive everything from your own systems through the API, or let an AI assistant search your catalog directly through the MCP server.
- Multiple libraries. Keep catalogs separate, invite collaborators with the right level of access, and bring your own AI provider account per library.
Built around music data
Because Spondulix Search is designed for music catalogs, there is no need to reshape your data to fit a general-purpose search engine. Tracks, composers, publishers, performing rights organizations, genres, moods, instrumentation, tempo, key, lyrics and your own custom metadata are all first-class. Upload the catalog you already have and start searching.
How it works
- Load your catalog. Add tracks and their metadata through the web interface or the API. Lyrics are indexed automatically.
- Tune the prompt. Each library has an editable prompt and a set of example searches that teach the search how your catalog is tagged and what your users tend to ask for.
- Search. Type a brief and get a ranked list. Refine in conversation, or add filters for the constraints that cannot bend.
Who is behind it
Spondulix Search is designed and built by Michael Chaney Consulting Corporation, a software consultancy based in Nashville, Tennessee. Questions, pricing and demos are handled directly by the people who build the product.
